I am Emily Meador, a Registered Dietitian, wife, home cook, dog mama, comedy enthusiast and aspiring vagabond. I am truly happy.
This has not always been the case though, I have worn many titles throughout my life, but the most hard earned title I have held is “Eating Disorder Survivor”. For years of my life I suffered from an eating disorder that stood in the way of me truly living my life to the fullest. I missed out on social gatherings, had panic attacks at birthday parties, and frankly lived in a constant state of anxiety. The day that I decided to enter recovery everything changed.
I was able to start building meaningful relationships. I learned to love myself for things far greater than the shape of my body. I developed a love for cooking. I graduated college, got married, adopted a dog, became an RDN, traveled the world, and finally figured out how to make a good batch of chocolate chip cookies.
There are enough variables in our life to stress us out. Food does NOT need to be one of those things. Join me on your journey to ditch the diet mindset and learn to eat intuitively with health in mind, rather than a number on the scale.
